Charles Russell continues to be a steadfast advocate for the care, dignity, and well-being of residents at Father Lacombe Care Society. As a long-serving board member, and former Board Chair during the construction of Providence Care Centre. Charles has played an important role in the growth of the society.
His dedication to the Sisters of Providence and the nearly 300 residents at Father Lacombe goes far beyond boardroom decisions. Charles is also a parishioner at St. Patrick’s Church in Shawnessy, where he has been a member for over 32 years. And he is a member of the Knights of Columbus, a global fraternity of Catholic men committed to charity and service.
Thanks to Charles, the Knights of Columbus generously funded a lift that will enhance resident mobility and uphold their dignity. As Director of Care Jacalyn Elias, RN, explains, the lift assists residents who are able to stand but have lost the ability to pivot hence making transfers safer and more comfortable.
While we are very grateful for provincial funding we rely on donations to purchase equipment like lifts and mattresses.
We are very thankful for community organizations like the Knights of Columbus and individuals like Charles who are willing to support the seniors in our care.
