Do you have parents, or know of people, who require senior care? Do you believe that our seniors, who have given so much, deserve a safe, engaging and affordable place to live? If so, the Father Lacombe Care Foundation needs Trustees who are passionate about seniors’ care.
The Father Lacombe Care Foundation plays a crucial role in fundraising for the Father Lacombe Care Society. The Father Lacombe Care Society manages Father Lacombe Care Centre and Providence Care Centre. We have a long history in the community and have received the highest national accreditation for outstanding performance in every area of facility management.
The Care Centres, working with the Government of Alberta, offers affordable care to all, regardless of economic status, faith or no faith. These are our most vulnerable seniors, especially those with memory challenges. Within these Centres, staff and numerous volunteers create a sense of community, making it more than just a place to live.
The funds that the Father Lacombe Care Foundation raises enable the Care Centres to continue providing quality care, specialized equipment, programming and upgrading enhancements that keep bodies moving, brains active and spirits lifted; programs and services that are not funded by the government nor by resident fees. As a board member, you will play a critical role in creating fund development plans, identifying and cultivating prospective donors, contributing to policy development, actively participating in fundraising activities and providing governance oversight.
As a board member, you will also be expected to support all fundraising initiatives.
In specific, we need people with skills and experience in the following areas:
- Written Communication
- Donor Relations
- Grant Writing
- Networking with Potential Partners
- Public speaking
- Fund development
- CRA regulation of charitable organizations
- Website operation and graphic design
- Alberta Societies Act governance – paralegal and legal
- Social media and marketing
- Financial or accounting with a background in budgeting and management
