Father Lacombe Care Foundation’s 19th Annual Legacy Dinner, Sound of Music was held on Friday, April 13th, 2018 in Gasoline Alley at Heritage Park was another successful fundraising event. The 300 people enjoyed an evening of fun, food, and “favourite things”. The Austrian style evening started off with a cocktail reception, accordion music by Bob Scherle, viewing of the silent auction items, photographs by Bandi, and fun for all at the sucker pull. Dinner started with a European style salad, petit beef tenderloin stroganoff with pan-fried spätzle and veggies followed by apple strudel, brie, and candied pecan sea salted caramel sorrel.
Guests enjoyed an inspirational talk by Will Ferguson, Canadian travel writer, the wonderful songs from the Sound of Music by Kenn Pasayn and his wife Riza (our accountant at Father Lacombe), and the Don Taylor Volunteer of the Year recognition went to well-deserving Peggy Castellino. The evening was topped off with the infamous resident video and live auction.
Proceeds raised at this event will go to the completion of the Healing Garden for residents living with dementia at Providence Care Centre. Thank you to all who attended and supported us, along with a huge thank you to the Organizing Committee and the volunteers who made it all possible.
